How the model works ↗
What is the 12 Axes political test?+

12 Axes is a free educational quiz that maps your political preferences across twelve dimensions, including government, civil liberties, economics, religion and technology. It compares that profile with a reference catalogue.

How is 12 Axes different from a political compass?+

A political compass summarizes politics in two dimensions. 12 Axes keeps twelve dimensions separate, then offers a two-dimensional compass as a simplified overview.

Is a high compatibility score proof of agreement?+

No. Compatibility measures proximity within this model. It is not a probability, endorsement, diagnosis or claim that you agree with every policy of a person or country.

Are my answers private?+

Scoring happens in your browser. This version does not send your answers to a quiz server. Progress is saved on this device. If you share a result link, the twelve axis scores are included in that link.

Is 12 Axes scientifically validated?+

This is an educational self-reflection tool, not a validated psychometric instrument. Wording, reference profiles and the chosen model affect the result.

Can I change my answers?+

Yes. Use Back during the quiz, resume a saved session on this device, or edit answers on a completed result when the original answers are still available.

12 AXES / SOURCES & CONTEXT

What does the test measure — and what doesn’t it?
